WEDNESDAY IS MATT'S BIRTHDAY SHOW!

Tributosaurus loves to make abrupt monthly transitions from style to style. On the heels of the bare essentials needed to re-create Johnny Cash, please join us in September, as we become The Moody Blues. It'll take strings, horns, multiple keyboards and guitars, orchestral percussion, and sampled wizardry to get this done.

With Days of Future Passed in 1967, The Moody Blues adeptly bridged the gap between classical and rock, setting off decades of music from fans and imitators. The following 4 records brought hits and deep cuts truly fusing musical worlds, with their version of prog-rock bombast always coming off with elegance. Justin Hayward is one of the more under-rated singers and songwriters of his era. When you think of the Moody Blues, maybe your mind goes to the grand orchestral creations, which we’ll of course deliver. But, one of the joys of this month for us has been re-discovering the guitar-driven, edgy psychedelia that dominates other stages of their work. Good god, the guitarmada will be in full effect.

If you only know their re-united 80's material that descended dangerously towards (or into) pure cheese, then this is an opportunity to delve deeper. Also, you’ll watch the band play a daring game of chicken; how far into that cheese will we go? Hmmmm.

This show is Matt's 40th birthday selection, joining previous big birthday band selections of Dire Straits (Curt), The Eagles (Chris), Beck (Jon), and XTC (Dan). Come help propel him into the best decade ever! Except of course for his 20's or 30's. Whatever.
