Listen to the Music!

We're not ready to let go of summer just yet, and nothing feels more like summertime in the Midwest than the Doobie Brothers live!

The Doobies are an icon of the California Sound of the 1970s, characterized by thick vocal harmonies and a unique combination of folk-style fingerpicking and rough-hewn rock licks. Through the decade they cross-pollinated with Steely Dan, bringing aboard Skunk Baxter, and later Michael McDonald, and redefined blue-eyed soul.

The edginess and country flavor of the early years and the big band spectacle of the later years appeals to everyone in some way - and we're no different. If Minute By Minute doesn't have any special memories for you, Black Water probably does.

Double drum kits and percussion, multiple guitars and keys, and a big heap of harmony vocals, horns AND strings means it'll be another Trib show to remember, and we'll bring the horses to deliver - so don't miss it!

Doobies!

ON HALLOWEEN WE INTRODUCE A NEW SERIES OF TRIBUTOSAURUS EVENTS!

The Artisan Series

When you listen to your favorite album, or your favorite song, you probably know the names of the main performers in the band. But many parts on these great recordings were also performed by studio musicians whose style and expertise were necessary to make a good recording great.

The Tributosaurus Artisan Series will highlight one of these great musicians each show, as we back them up on some of the songs that they helped to make great. This will give you the chance to see them, hear them, and thank them for all the great music they've brought to you - even if you didn't realize it! - You can read more about the series concept on our website.

OUR INAUGURAL ARTISAN WILL BE :

Rolling Stones' Sax-Man Bobby Keys!

That's right, we will be playing with Bobby Keys - the man who played on Let It Bleed, Exile on Main Street, Sticky Fingers, and more is coming to town to play wth us as we look back on his amazing career! And the Stones were only part of the story - his discography also includes:

  • Joe Cocker: Mad Dogs and Englishmen
  • George Harrison: All Things Must Pass
  • John Lennon: Sometime In New York City, Walls and Bridges, Rock 'n' Roll
  • Keith Richards: Talk Is Cheap, Live at the Hollywood Palladium
  • Ringo Starr: Ringo, Goodnight Vienna
  • B. B. King: B. B. King in London
  • Carly Simon: No Secrets, Hotcakes
  • Chuck Berry: Hail! Hail! Rock 'n' Roll
  • Donovan: Cosmic Wheels
  • Dr. John: The Sun, Moon & Herbs
  • Eric Clapton: Eric Clapton
  • Faces: Long Player
  • Lynyrd Skynyrd: Second Helping

And that's only a portion of the list! Bobby has had an amazing career, and we'll be visiting many of the highlghts on Halloween - he's that scary good! This will be a rare opportunity to hear the man who gave you the great saxophone playing on all of these great albums in person, and he's a great guy to boot - come and say hi to him after the show!

Don't miss a one-of-a-kind show with a one-of-a-kind artist - come in costume and get a free drink!
