After last month's Donald Fagen extravaganza, we needed a little break, so we packed up the Tributo bus and headed out for Spring Break - and oh, the stories we could tell... But now we're back and feel like it's time to get back to a little old-fashioned rock 'n' roll... So we're heading down to bayou country and bringing the swamp to Martyr's as we become CCR! This band had a relatively short run (5 years), but what a run it was! Some of the most memorable hooks of all time, combined with just the right amount of edgy guitar and scratchy vocals makes their music strike a chord in almost everyone. Hell, let's just say everyone - 5 top 10 albums and 13 top ten singles in 5 years - wow! Add to that the inclusion of their songs in countless films (especially Vietnam films) and you've got a sound that everybody knows and loves! From "Suzie Q" to "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?", this band had a string of hits that are bound to get you singing along and moving! We bring you the Tributosaurus Signature Series! This is a new kind of show that we'll be doing that exists outside of our regular rotation (so there will still be a regular first week show even in a month with a Sig Series show) that we will use to dothe kind of things that we normally would not do, or in the case of the inaugural event, start an annual tradition.... We paid homage to XTC last March, and the show was a huge success, but more than that, it brought together a community of fans who are seriously devoted to this great music, but almost never get to hear it! XTC was a ground-breaking band, and their infectious brand of melodic hyperactive pop stands alone - they were true innovators. Their songs are complex and simple, hard to play and easy to listen to - all at once! When we took on this band last year, we were surprised at the depth of their catalog, and we all have become huge fans ourselves. We received emails from tons of XTC fans all over the country afterwards lamenting that they did not get a chance to see it, so we've decided to do it again, and whats more, we've decided to do an XTC show EVERY YEAR as a part of the Signature Series! This first one will be the same as the show we put on last March, and going forward, we will be doing a different set of material every spring! We know that XTC is classified as a "niche" band, and we know a lot of our fans are unfamiliar with their songs. We invite all of you to check out some music that will surprise you and may end up on your iPod before you know it! This show is a lot of fun, and very high energy, so come on out and dance on a Holiday weekend - you'll love it! GUESTS WILL INCLUDE :
