Guitar gods come in all shapes and sizes. You gotchyer slick good-smelling pompadour blues kings, and you gotchyer t-shirted surprisingly nimble ironic grunge-istas; then there’s your enlightened hippie-preppy wine country stoned underachievers, and even your blazered Berklee chord-spewing wank champs.

Then there’s Mark Knopfler, who somehow made the headband cool. Well, at least for almost 20 minutes. And you know what? As we listen to this music all month long, prepping for you and yours on Wednesday, I gotta say that this is amongst the best guitar goodness ever dropped.

Join us this Wednesday as Tributosaurus becomes Dire Straits. It’s our own Curt Morrison’s 40th birthday gig, so it’s his band choice/roast. He’s just learning about the roast now, but I don’t think he’ll mind – we’re getting a drugged-up Farrah Fawcett to appear just like Shatner did. Guitar duties will be C-Mo’s, along with our longtime collaborator and strat god Chris Siebold. As always, we pledge a healthy, wide setlist with hits you’ll expect, and deep juicy cuts you’ll either know and love or immediately seek out.
